Subject:   How about some info on sound recorders?

I enjoy Dru's articles, and I appreciate having them to fall back on when I don't know where else to turn.

Right now I have a job to do. I have to create a custom audio CD for someone, using voice recordings I make myself. Only, I am wanting to avoid using Windows. Sure, I could lay out $30 and get a professional Windows sound studio, but I want to stick with FreeBSD or Linux. So far, everything I have tried either stops working mysteriously, or the dependencies make it hell. Even using the ports, I get problems with what I have come up with to try so far.

Ok, enough whining, off to do more research. :) But, I would enjoy an article about how to set up a good sound studio type package or two. Please? :)
