Response: Several free C tools are available that do the string manipulation for you. I've tried several but the one that blew me away is called "uncgi". If you work in Unix you really should take a look at uncgi. Uncgi takes all incoming information from an HTML form, places it into Unix environment variables, and then runs your program. All your program needs to do is use function getenv() to read everything on the form. Uncgi opens up html forms processing to a C programmer almost immediately. Note that uncgi is actually language neutral. Any language that can read environment variables will work. Here's where to get uncgi:
