The point is that with *medium range* (700mhz AMD, 512 megs, for example) you can certainly run a standard Postnuke site with a couple hundred concurrent visitors without problem. So, I'm asking what the specs were that caused pages to take *over 60 seconds* to load, and that gave them HUGE load averages. Is that too much to ask? My answer certainly isn't to 'throw more hardware' at things as a first solution, but without telling what they were using, it's pretty pointless.
By all means, postnuke is NOT optimal. Judging by how the nukes stuff was done, they've chosen to mimic at least some of those inefficiencies as well.
