Understanding .NET Permissions: Where Did That Permission Come From?
Subject:   Would clients actually use it?

I've got an "average end-user" problem coming from the other direction.

I'm new to asp.net, and when I first saw Isolated Storage, my brain filled with possibilities. However, try as I may I can't get it to work as it should (at all). My web-form pages are on a good server, but the box I'm using to test the pages is an old system with Windows 98. I can't load the .NET SDK on the system, and can't find any way to change permissions.

If I'm having this much trouble, I'd hate to think of the hoops many of my users (that is, those with old 95 or 98 systems, or who are very computer illeterate) would have to jump through for the extra functionality.

Sorry, but till I can tell my users something simple such as "go here, right click there, select that" with respect to permissions then Isolated Storage is next to useless to me.
