Weblog:   What's up with Mac OS X Java and QuickTime?
Subject:   It's not only Apple...

It seems to me that Java on the desktop is an idea that has been relegated to the care of the evil stepmother. Even SUN seems to be ignoring core API's that really need a lot of work. Can you say Swing?

I mean, SUN has only recently agreed to think about
developing a binding to OpenGL!!!

The focus seems to be on J2EE for the backside.

I really don't care much about the backside myself. I like frontend app's and applets. Much more fun. And I just *HATE* C++ -- I like C though but Java is so much more fun.
