  Using JSF
Subject:   can we still have dispatcher servelet when using jsf

I am a newbie in jsf and found this doc a very easy to understand literature. Well done.

My question is,

1) i have a dispatcher servelet in my initial web design which handle all jsp page request.
As i dive in to jsf, it looks to me, the controlling logic now has to go to
javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet
and the faces-config.xml.

am i right to say so?

2) i find managedBean in the xml config quite redundant while we have all the info we need in the java Bean already. Isn't it much more efficient if it can read the javaBean directly?

many thanks
