The statement concerning Windows users and FAT32 could be taken the wrong way the way I've worded it in the article. Thanks to Alan Bateman from Sun for putting things right,
"The issue is that the agent implementation can't register its connector end-point in a secure manner on FAT32 systems. This is a private interface between the jconsole and the agent implementation. The only implication is that the managed process doesn't show up in the list of processes that jconsole shows at startup. It doesn't impact JMX. If you want you can still do a remote connection and use password authentication."
