Using JavaScript to Create a Powerful GUI
Subject:   Browser and OS-specific?

The author here is suggesting to readers that they use Browser and possibly platform-specific code. While we realize that IE Windows represents the largest segment of web users, this may not be the case 3 years from now, and neglecting to take that into account is like using 2 digits to identify a year.

Also, it would be useful for the author and the readers if the article included a working implementation of the subject. The image of the textarea included in the article could have been a working example instead, or - if OReilly.Net standards don't allow this - could have been a link to a working example.

Having said all that, I'd like to thank the author for writing about this tool. It's something that I can envision having utility on my own sites - say for adding URLs into BBS messages.
