Subject:   Can't log in to MySQL - seems to be properly configured
Date:   2005-10-16 10:59:52
From:   TresWife
Local install on Win XP SP2, from an Administrator account.
Attempting to use from the same account under which it was set-up.
Firewall: Zone Alarm

Installations done according to tutorial. No password set for MySQL. MySQL Front log-in set-up with a made up name in General, server=localhost port=3306 connection type=direct under Connection, and user=root password= under Log-In.

I get:
SQL Execution error #1045. Response from the database: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password=NO) Please check the username and password. Afterwards, please ask the database administrator (Internet provider) if you are allowed to connect fromt he computer.

I've also tried un-installing and re-installing witha configuration that includes a password, and I get the same result.

Any ideas?

~~J.
