The pureftpd manual hints at sftp capability. However I'm finding that to use this one must login as a user with an actual Mac OS X account. Also, when doing this the user sees their Mac OS X files.

What I would like to do is allow read-only anonymous access via ftp, but read-write access via sftp but granted to virtual users restricted to their virtual folders? I don't want to set up actual Mac OS user accounts. Is this possible?

For this site using ssl/tls isn't an option. The majority of users that would need read/write access to this site use FTP clients that don't support PureFTPd's implementation of that option.
