10 Reasons We Need Java 3.0
Subject:   make Object inherit Array and not visa-versa

The types of all Objects are typechecked, but the
types of Objects stored in an array object are not -
this produces a lot of security flaws. If an Object
was a kind of an Array and not the other way around,
none of this would be possible. Of course, making an
array a basic type in an object language is rather
un-PC, but it would also make all the proposed vector
extensions very easy.
