Quis Custodiet Custodes Ipsos (Who Watches the Watchers) ?

by Nitesh Dhanjani
May. 21, 2006

I agree in full with "The Eternal Value of Privacy" written by Bruce Schneier for Wired. Schneier talks about why privacy is not a privilege - but a right, and discusses how absolute power is bound to corrupt. He provides a great retort to the question commonly put forth by those in favor of wholesale surveillance: "If you aren't doing anything wrong, what do you have to hide?". I highly recommend a read, if you haven't come across it already.

Nitesh Dhanjani is a well known security researcher, author, and speaker. Dhanjani has been invited to talk at various information security events such as the Black Hat Briefings, RSA, Hack in the Box, Microsoft Blue Hat, and OSCON.
