Affordable hardware for fine art printing is more bountiful than ever. In this exclusive Inside Aperture podcast, Macworld editor at large, Rick LePage, covers the latest offerings from Epson, HP, and Canon. Rick supplies plenty of insight about how HP is challenging Epson, and some thoughts about Canon's emergence, then absence in the midrange fine art market.
Rick has posted reviews of the HP Photosmart Pro B9180 and the Canon ImagePROGRAF iPF5000 large format printer. He's currently testing the Epson Stylus Pro 3800, and has written a nice piece on Pigment vs. dye inks - Which is best?.
All of the hardware we discuss in this podcast works well with Aperture and Rick even throws in a couple of Aperture-specific tips. You may also want to listen to Joe Schorr talk about color management with Aperture for a refresher of how to set up your workflow for the best output.
