From My Mailbox: QT7 Clip Rotation
by Erica Sadun
Can I still rotate video clips in QT7? Sure you can. In QuickTime Pro, type Command-J, select the video track, click Visual Settings and then use the left or right rotate buttons.
This feature existed long before version 7.
Flip: Yes it did. Which is why my correspondent wanted to know if it was still there and how to access it. As you can see from the picture, the Movie Properties inspector has changed quite a bit from QT6.
I have been avoiding upgrading to pro because I'm tired of forking over the $30 every time there's apoint change just to use QT's difficult to find/use features. The interface looks much improved from this screen shot- is it more intuitive to edit movies now?
I don't really like the new interface--maybe because I was just so used to the old one. And no, it isn't more intuitive to edit movies.
I finally paid for QT Pro 7 and I'm happy with it. I like the instant record-movie function, and I've always like the easy copy/cut/past editing in QT Pro. It's so dead simple. That said, the rest of the interface is complicated and non-intutive. Even after reading Rick Ferncase's QuickTime for FilmMakers, adding text tracks, joining audio and video together is more complicated than it should be. Bring on the tutorials. :)
I can rotate it but its still nor as I wished, made like more fat from one side, what sould i do???
