The web services consolidation continues apace: the del.icio.us blog is reporting that the social bookmarking services has been purchased by Yahoo, joining with Flickr as another high-profile acquisition. It's turning into Hungry Hungry Hippo out there. ;)
Is Yahoo going to be del.icio.us?
I agree that the advertising companies are in a big fight about their profits. For del.icio.us, it is unquestionable a big economical success after two years of development on this social bookmarking service with a fast growing user community. But what will happen after del.icio.us was bought by Yahoo? Will the bookmarks be used for user-specific ads or as part of Yahoo's business model to increase the profits?
